What Nuru Massage is.
Kawasaki, 1970s. Nuru is a Japanese technique built on a gel drawn from nori seaweed, warmed to body heat and close to frictionless. The massage is given with her whole body rather than her hands, and every item it needs travels in her bag.
Where it comes from
The bathhouses of Kawasaki assembled the technique in the 1970s. Nuru is simply the Japanese word for slippery. The gel is nori seaweed, food-grade and in use long before anyone warmed it for a table.
The technique
The sheet is the equipment. Once gel is down there is no grip left on the bed, so she anchors with a knee or a heel at the edge and works from there. Strokes run the long axis of the body and turn without lifting off. Your part is to stay heavy and let her move you.
What to expect
She lays a waterproof sheet over the bed before anything else. The gel goes into warm water while the room is set. Contact is continuous once it starts, and the glide holds for the length you booked. A shower closes it and the room is left as she found it.
Who it suits
Guests who want the least ordinary thing on the list and have a shower to finish in. Rarely a first booking.
